There is more and more gold in the game and it gets converted into weapon upgrades. However it seems like an endless number of people can steal my sword down to about level 20, why doesn't everyone have a good sword by now?

It seems like all the equip just gets passed around between 4 or 5 chars who keep killling each other and never upgrading.
