Option to turn on/off icons, animal actions

I find the icons quite annoying myself, as they take up a few lines of text. Also, the animal actions, like "A snake slithers" or "a lion roars in the distance". If we could turn on and off these, it would be less cluttered and useful. Thanks

I agree; should be able to turn off the animal notifiers.
And item descriptors maybe? So instead of "XX strikes you hard with ZZZ"
you just see "XX strikes you hard"
